| PRESS RELEASE: Vantaa Energy Ltd. to Improve its Efficiency with Syncron Tech’s Reporting System |

The system collects tens of thousands of measurements from the power plant’s other production systems. Based on these measurements, the plant’s operation and utilisation rate, the cleaning requirements of boilers, emissions, the operation of turbines, etc., can be monitored. – If we achieve 90 per cent fuel efficiency and are able to use measurements to improve this by one per cent, it will mean savings of one million euros, notes Kalle Patomeri, Production Manager of Vantaa Energy Ltd’s Martinlaakso plant. In particular, the new system will make reporting easier. Other systems produce information, but this system also refines it. It can be used to calculate efficiency coefficients, improve energy efficiency and, through easier reporting, to save time. – My tasks include reporting to, for example, the Environment Centre, National Emergency Supply Agency and Statistics Finland. Now, I will no longer have to go to the trouble of creating these reports in a spreadsheet application; I can easily get them from the system. Gathering the data is no problem, but we have had to customise, for example, the boiler energy balance calculations, as each power plant is unique, describes Patomeri. The system will have a total of around thirty users in administration and production. The management is also interested in the possibility of monitoring production more closely than before. For this system, used over the intranet, one of the requested and delivered features was a shift-specific journal, from which the next shift can check whether something exceptional occurred in production during the last shift. This must be taken into consideration when the shift interprets the latest values given. Six suppliers participated in the competitive tendering arranged by Vantaa Energy Ltd. – Syncron Tech‘s flexible and customer-oriented operating model and good references won me over. I contacted some of its customers and was convinced by what I heard, Patomeri recounts. The installation of Syncron Tech’s system will be completed in June. – Vantaa Energy Ltd. is a very important new customer for us. It is a developing company investing in new technology. We firmly believe that our products based on next-generation web2 technologies and our know-how on demanding power plant solutions will offer significant benefits to our customer. Our goal is long-term cooperation, during which we can apply our solutions with greater scope at Vantaa Energy Ltd, says Jussi Kontola, Managing Director of Syncron Tech.
