The cooperation between Prefere Resins Oy and Syncron Tech Oy began in 2001, when Prefere Resins had a need to monitor the consumption of products in client factory tanks. The first remote monitoring target was from the plywood industry. The system has since expanded from tank monitoring to a customer service system delivered as an SaaS service. The client base has expanded over the years and the customer service system covers dozens of client factories in several countries.

Smoothness in the supply chain with IoT

Tank monitoring has been installed in clients' production facilities, which provides real-time information on the filling rate of the tanks and the consumption forecast of resin. Clients do not need to plan and place product orders separately, rather Prefere Resins Oy ensures that there is always enough resin. The system allows Prefere Resins to decide on deliveries, enabling flexible scheduling of deliveries.

During production, the system records information on manufactured products and batches of products, such as laboratory analyses, product documentation and safety data sheets. This allows for traceability per batch of the product and improves the transparency of the supply chain.

Syncron Tech Oy's shift diary is used in production. The shift diary has made it possible to transfer data between shifts reliably. The importance of this has been underlined in managing exceptions.

In product distribution management, transport companies have been given access to the system. Drivers are provided with production and schedule information, as well as loading and unloading instructions. The management of loading permits and driver-specific training uphold everyone's occupational safety.
